Notification--save as default?

Thread needs solution

TIH 2013

On the notifications tab there's a check off box at the bottom--save as default. I always check the box. However, when I create a new backup profile the notification email parameters page is blank. I expect to see my email settings, not a blank page, since I had told the software what to use as the default going forward.

What am I missing?

HI Mark,
I have 2014 installed so it may not apply to your 2013.
I have found for 2014, that I need to have an active backup task saved with the notification in effect.
Then, when I start a new task creation, the notifiction settings are already in place.

If I delete all backup tasks, the saved notification settings are missing.

Just opened a new backup, went to options/notification and the fields were blank.

Glad to hear setting the email default works in '14 ;-)

P.S. It's not a problem since I clone (your prior suggestion) before deleting and then alter the spec and save--I was just curious.

Does a 2013 cloned backup task carry over the notification settings? If yes, it might save a little time. Getting the notification settings correct can be tricky especially if you change internet providers.

The notification settings do carry over with the clone--I posted that info as an edit to a prior post.
