Rescue flash drive question

Thread needs solution

I run ATIH 2014 on Windows 8.1 Pro installations.

I've never set up a rescue disk before and want to set one up on a USB 3 flash drive but given that the drive's capacity is far, far greater than that needed by ATIH could I also install a Kaspersky rescue disk on the same drive and indeed use the drive for other things as well?

Thanks.

My best guess is that you can not place both rescue discs on the same flash drive and get them to work. When you use the applications to create the rescue disc the process wipes out everything else that is on the disc. Plus each application boots up into their own menu so without some way to customize the menu structure you would be out of luck. I would suggest that you either create a rescue CD for each or purchase a smaller flash drive for each rescue disc.

It may be possible if both products support creation of WinPE-based rescue media with a .wim file as a result. (True Image supports it). In this case each additional product will be another .wim file in /sources folder and corresponding BCD entry. There are many instruction taht can be found in google by 'winpe multiboot' words.
