Increase Partition Size Problem
Hi there
I'm using the wizard to try to increase a partition on my internal HD from 7GB to 20GB. I follow all the instructions, including selecting the partition to be reduced in size accordingly. All goes well, the PC reboots, I get messages from Acronis teling me thing are happening. Everything looks good.
But, after restart is completed, nothing has happened and both partitions are same size as before.
HELP!
Thanks & Merry Christmas

Great, thank you very much Mark / KOLO
I created a bootable CD as you suggested and interrupted the normal PC start up to run Acronis directly from the CD (Windoze not running) and that did the trick.
Thanks again for your prompt reply, and Merry Christmas!

Hello Stephen,
Thank you for the feedback. We are really glad to hear that the issue has been resolved.
Since Mark, as usual, provided you with a reliable help, I would like to share another workaround that can be helpful for other customers.
Temporarily detach any USB storage device that is plugged in. Perform the operation with the USB storage device detached.
If you have an inbuilt card reader, then disable it through Windows Device Manager:
- Hit Win-R to get to the command prompt;
- Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter;
- In the Device Manager window locate your card reader (it probably starts with letters SD, MMC etc);
- Right-click on the card reader and select Disable.
- Perform the desired operation.
Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.
