new trial user, backup length of time question
I am using the trial and testing it with a backup of 54Gb from my Windows 7 Pictures folder, with no encryption selected. After about 30 minutes it is barely showing up on the green progress bar and it says about 23 hours remaining. Is this normal? I do understand the concept of full backup versus incremental, etc and that it does need to do the whole folder the first time, but is 23 hours for 54Gb the norm?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
If this was the projected time, the estimate has no validity and has to be ignore. The time keeps recalulating but the projection is never really close.
If you are using a hub, try plugging directly into computer.
If usb3 available, use it instead of usb2.
You could have issues with usb driver. As a trial user, you qualify for help from Acronis. Do register your trial serial number and then you can contact Acronis via support.
Which version of Windows and is this a desktop or laptop?

It is a Windows 7 desktop. I ended up uninstalling the trial because it kept getting hung up or freezing, and then when I tried to check out the Tools (the file shredder in particular), it started by a popup window saying it was analyzing something on Drive G: (an external hard drive) and it got hung there and I had to eventually turn off the computer in order to reboot it. Too many annoying things happening already and it isn't worth the hassle to figure them out. It's a shame because this looks like a real fine product if I could just get it to run smoothly; bad first impression. When I tried to use the Support link, I logged in and then it asked me to choose what product I have and the drop down box only says "Select Product" and never lists anything so I can't submit a tech support request.
Thanks for your reply, I do appreciate the help.

Too bad about the issues. If you should decide to try again on a future version, it is important to register the trail or a purchase and the registration qualifies you for support if within 30 days of purchase or trial.
You might want to run the cleanup utility (link below) and do read the instructions included with the lnk.
