Hello Rob,

No worries, I will help you with this situation.

The cause is that Acronis software cannot get access to the partition to perform operations.

As far as I understand, you're trying to make some backup archive, is that correct? Or you mean Bootable Recovery CD with our product?

1. Could you please check the disks for errors?

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

2. If this does not help, please install Acronis SnapAPI drivers update to overcome this issue

Please install the update with disabled logging and see whether the issue persists.

Note: this is SnapAPI Build 503, please do not install it for any products except Acronis True Image Home 2010! If you are not sure where to get SnapAPI update for your version, ask us on a forum or write a PM.

If the issue still persist, please collect Acronis Report file, which will help us to analyze the structure of your hard drives. In order to create Acronis Report file, please download Acronis Report utility, run it and create a report. The default name of this file is "report.txt" and it is saved on your desktop.

Please let me know if you're able to resolve the issue by following the instructions I provided above.

Thank you.

I too have received the dreaded multiple "Failed to Read" errors. I was doing an automatic full backup on an XP-home machine. Typically the full backup was taking 10 to 15 minutes. Now it is approaching 2 hours and fails with errors.

I am using the Acronis package provided with my Seagate NAS-220 hardware. I have no idea which Acronis version would align with the Seagate BlackArmor Backup (Files are dated 23/7/2009).

I have done chkdsk c:/r which marked numerous errors on my nearly new IDE drive. Many of the errors referred to Snapxxx.yyy files.

I have scanned:

http://forum.acronis.com/content/1514

However, I have no idea what items there apply to my case. For example - Snapxxxx does not show up in the list of installed programs. Snapapi.dll exists BUT snapapivss.dll does not? Also, the registry entries in the "Remove Acronis SnapAPI drivers" for snapman380 exist in ..\CurrentControlSet\Services and three CurrentContolSet locations (CurrentControlSet and CurrentControlSet002 and 003)? Do I delete all 3 entries or just one ...

So I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Help appreciated. Thanks.

Rick
