Acronis Startup tasks
Hi,
Which of the Acronis tasks do I need to run at startup?
I would like to disable what I don't need.
BTW, this is a WIN 7 system so I'm looking at the MSCONFIG Startup tab.
My use of Acronis is as simple as I can make it. I run no scheduled jobs.
I manually open up Acronis to run a backup+validation selecting logoff when done.
Why do I need these start tasks enabled:
Scheduler Helper
TIB mounter
True image

Why not run your Backuos from the TI Recovery CD and you do not need True Image installed at all?
I stop the Windows services on
Acronis Non-stop Backup and Acronis Syn-agent.
I also change both to disabled.
Within the program in top row HELP listing,
I stop or uncheck the looking for updates.

Hi,
I keep a second(removable) drive in my DVD/CD Bay and the second PC is an ultrabook w/o an internal CD player.
Seems like SW updates would be a good thing to get.
I don't use the non-stop backup either, so I suppose I could stop afcdpsrv?
Since I don't schedule, maybe I could stop arcSchSvc2?

Thanks for pointing out this previous post.
Seems I might be able to live w/o this one as I don't schedule anything:
"Acronis Scheduler Helper" DISABLE. Notifies the scheduler of logon/logoff events
What is T&D? I'm not planning to use Non Stop Backups.
"Acronis Nonstop Backup Service" DISABLE. You won't be able to use NSB or T&D
I don't understand what this actually means. What is the system tray and what notifications?
"Acronis True Image Monitor" DISABLE. You won't see the system tray and the notifications

nsb-nonstop backup
t&d=try and decide
tray notification= when a backup is in progress or in limbo pending a response to a user message,
all this appear via icons in the sys tray, lower right corner.
TrueImage may balk if finds its normal settings missing, or you may find additonal error messages in the log files if it is expecting and does not find.

Thanks,
Seems this may not be worth the effort.
