Recover Win7 (MBR) on GPT Disk
Hi,
I have a Win7Sp1 System Disk Image (whole disk) which I created with ATIH2013 some weeks ago. Meanwhile I switched to windows 8.1. which I installed on the same disk where the Win7 system has been before.
Now I want to recover my old Win7 on this disk again but run into problems as the disk is now a GPT/UEFI disk. Unfortunately, my Win7 Disk Image seems to be MBR based.
After recovery procedure (which I obviously mad wrong) I can't boot anymore ("Can't read from disk" error). A re-installation of win7sp1 and acronis2014 and rerun the recovery does also not help as the disk seems to stay as a GPT/UEFI disk.
What can I do?
Thank you,
Harry

This repair may need to be run more than once if the system does not boot the first time.
Thank you so much. Will try it when I am back home. Hope it works. What do you mean with Win7 recovery CD. I only have the Acronis Rescue Disk and a Win7 Installation Disk.

Different names=same disk. I am referrring to the Windows Installation or Windows Recovery CD//whatevery it is called or whatever exists. some may be user created and other have be the ful install CD. Anyway, I am referring to the Windows disk--not the Acronis disk.
