Hotfix from Microsoft may provide solution for some crashes
Acronis True Image Home 2010 kept crashing with a blue screen of death when I tried to back up my computer (which makes the program somewhat less useful). I have a Windows 7 64-bit computer with 8 GB of RAM.
The bsod was caused by nvlddmkm.sys---a driver from NVidia.
Uninstalling True Image and installing Norton Ghost did not work--same problem.
Yesterday I found a solution---a new hotfix from Microsoft (see below). I installed it yesterday and Norton Ghost now works flawless and my computer has been stable (I have not yet tried reinstalling True Image).
Hopefully this helps others!
