Win repair install needs vididr.x86.sys

Thread needs solution

... from 'install disk', but was downloaded as package and no individual files. It seems some Acronis files were damaged due to crashes from mobo fault.

Where can I find this file, and others that Win XP-SP3 repair install may require next ?

Grateful any advice.

Is your system bootable?
If yes, run the Acrnis Cleanup utility (signature link below). This will remove all Acronis products.
Do be sure and follow the "common" instructions listed in the lionk KB cleanup instructions.

Re-install the most recent 2013 build.

No, not bootable - various sys files damaged which is why I'm doing a repair win reinstall. But install stuck on needing the Acronis files.

And to add insult to injury (OK basic fault not Acronis's fault) they want me to PAY for tech support !

Any c'hance you have an TrueImage backup and could restore your system back to a prior state.

Yeah - I'm going to try this onto a separate (new) HDD this weekend, preserving my original disk 'as is'. But not confident of quality of backup as PC seems to have been crashing more than I thought, possibly *during* backups.

In the meantime have managed to manually backup all docs, so the major panic is reduced !

cheers
