Universal Restore does not appear on rescue disk

Thread needs solution

I installed True Image 2010 (build 6,053) with plus pack and created a rescue disk. The Universal Restore check box does not appear when I do an image restore from the rescue disk. I made an image, upgraded the motherboard and need UR to reinstall the OS with new drivers. I saw the identical problem occured in Backup&Restore 10.

What is your partition layout in the archive you're attempting to restore? My experience has been that if the archive doesn't contain an "Active" primary partition, the "Use Universal Restore" checkbox won't be displayed.

The archive contains an "Active" primary partition. When I run Acronis Home in windows on another PC, the "Use Universal Restore" checkbox is displayed properly for this same archive. I remade the rescue CD from within the running software (the first was burned thru the start submenu selection) but still no UUR option on recovery.

What happens if you use the same Rescue CD on this second PC where the UR option was available (from the software in Windows)?

I used the same Rescue CD on this second PC where the UR option was available (from the software in Windows) and the Universal Restore option did NOT appear. So, the problem is in the Rescue CD. UR is the reason I updated from the previous verson.

Ahh .... oh well ... I don't have any other ideas. Hopefully someone else will jump in here with suggestions.

I created one rescue CD.
If I boot from this CD, the UR appears on one PC but not on another.
In both cases the .tib selected contains an active, primary system partition.
