Acronis is supported on HOMEGROUP
Hello all ,
I am facing an issue , According to which i make file system on storage which is pass the password in work group . According to my investigation in work group we do not required any kind of password. After passing the password it behave like homegroup .
can you pls let me know in home group acronis is working ?

Hello ,
1) What the file system is
Filesystem is of cifs type.
2) How the vault is configured in Acronis Backup & Recovery.
we are added backup destination
3) What permissions are set for the storage location and for the managed vault if it is the case.

Thank you for additional information.
As you mentioned, you are using the CIFS protocol to connect to the storage. So we are talking about a network share, and if I understand you correctly, you would like to access network share in your network without authentication.
If you add Windows machines to a Homegroup, then you have this possibility of password free access to shared media in files. See this MS article about Homegroup: windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/homegroup-from-start-to-finish. Authentication is then performed automatically via PKU2U protocol which is an extension to the standard authentication protocol in Windows.
In Workgroup on the other hand, the standard authentication protocols are used, and the password should be provided on every authentication request issued during the access to CIFS share.
Acronis does not support PKU2U protocol, and thus also does not support the Windows Homegroup feature, which means you cannot create a CIFS share-based vault that would not require authentication.
