Hello

I have created a backup image of win 7 Pro system and am trying to restore to NEW hard drive.

I am using the boot cd software and when I come to do the restore it asks me all sorts of questions about mbr's and stuff I do not understand.

I simply want the image restored to the new hard drive - surely I just select restore image to hard drive and away I go but there does not appear to be any such simple option?

All I get every time I try is BOOTMGR is missing when I try and reboot and I am sure this is because I am not selecting the right (complicated) options!!!

Any assistance gratefully received.

If you backed up the whole disk you can select 'disks' in 'backed up data type' in data to recover selection dialog and select the target disk. If you backed up only volumes, yes you need to manually select where to restore all these items - volumes (including system reserved partition if the original computer had it) and MBR (the only question is where to restore it - on the same target disk)
