The fact that two disk imaging applications both failed due to disk errors suggests that your drive does have errors. I would test that drive thoroughly and not risk my data until I know it's good. Blaming third-party software when they correctly report disk errors is odd user behaviour.

Hello tuttle,
I did not say, that Paragon Backup&Restore showed the same error. I that case I would rather think there is an hardware error as you suggested. And I wrote, that a thrid program did the same task without errors. I am a user who tries all possible before I write critics in a forum. And yesterday I again had an error on an other machine with "Seagate Drive Wizzard" (which in my opinion is a good program). After a clean install of Windows 7 and all the needed other software the system was running perfectly without any errors. After some days I wanted to backup the system with "Seagate Driv Wizzard". The backup process was running without errors, but after the restart of Windows7 I got a lot of errors and some BSODs. Remember, I only did a backup. Because I had the same experience with "Seagate Drive Wizzard" in my opinion the backup process does not only copy data, it does change data. But thats not enough. Because I don't give up quickly I restores the system from the new created backup. And after 3 or 4 starts of Windows 7 which shows some errors now the system again runs without erros. Windows7 seems to have some self healing forces. But, because I had the same behaviour of "Seagate Drive Wizzard" on a complete other machine I cannot suppress the suspiccion, what the backup software could be the cause of the problem. Please be sure that I not wanted to blame a software company, especailly if the software is freeware!

Holger,
Did you uninstall the DiskWizard version before installing TIH 2012? DiskWizard is based on TIH 2009 and has been modified by Seagate for their purposes and it can clash if all its components have not been uninstalled beofre installing an actual Acronis product.
Neither Seagate or Western Digital seem to update their versions of Disk Wizard all that often to take account of some of their newer drive technologies.

Hello Colin,
I did not install Disk Wizzard, I only startet it from the CD-drive, saved the backup file on another Harddisk.
Thanks for your help, but I will use StorageCraft ShadowProtect next time.

True Image 2014 Premium caused blue screens on TWO NEW HP workstations (a Z220 and a Z230)!!!!! HP replaced two motherboards, 2 CPU's, memory, and power supply trying to resolve the problem. I removed the junk (Acronis) and the blue screens went away. Wouldn't touch the product again if they paid me!

After my problems with ATIH 2012 I went on to test several other b-u applications, but found none which functioned with the natural ease of previous Acronis products. After one year of searching, I decided to give ATIH 2013 another opportunity. The user interface required some exploration time, but the main thing is that ATIH 2013 has worked flawlessly and saved me from a few potentially embarrassing situations.
I am now on ATIH 2014 since one month and it works to my full satisfaction.
A hint to the program designers: Please don't change the GIF again! It will only put off your loyal followers.

Kjell, You're a pretty "lucky guy" then. I forgot to mention that HP also sent me a refurbished Z230 which I DIDN'T install Acronis on and it had NO BSOD problems. The experience with THREE machines is more than enough proof for me (or any other thinking person) that there are serious issues with the software! The events I noted have nothing to do with "exploration time" of the interface. Anyone who would recommend the product is "reckless" and must be affiliated with Acronis. How do you explain TWO machines having the "issues" and a third WITHOUT the software NOT having the "issues"? At any rate after the expense HP absorbed I'm sure they are independently testing Acronis to take appropriate action in the future. PS: "any enterprising Attorneys out there who can locate others with the same experience who might like to file a class action suit?"

Jeff,
Your unfounded accusation that I "must be affiliated with Acronis" only makes me question the other parts of your comment.
Call me "lucky", but I have been using Acronis products since ATI 8.0 in 2005 and only had problems with ATIH 2012. Since I was pretty harsh against Acronis earlier in this thread by then, I thought it would only be balanced to mention what happened later.
Call me "reckless", but my ageing HP Compaq dc7600 Convertible with a Pentium D clocked at 3.4 GHz is still in good shape, running Windows XP Pro.

Kjell,
How can you offer an opinion on a new model 64bit I4770 processor running Windows 7 Pro when by your own admission you are running an "ageing HP Compaq dc7600 Convertible with a Pentium D clocked at 3.4 GHz is still in good shape, running Windows XP Pro"?
You ARE running an older (substantially) CPU, ARE running a significantly older / different OS, have only been running the version of Acronis referenced for ONE MONTH (presumably with an XP OS). On what basis / experience are you making your comments? And while we're discussing this what's your expert opinion on the issue I posted?

Jeff,
1. I have not offered any opinion on your system but only reported on my own experience with Acronis products, negative as well as positive.
2. My much younger 24" iMac failed 3 months ago. There was a crack in the motherboard caused by overheating. It has never had any Acronis product installed, but that does not prove anything about the software. The problem was caused by a poorly designed ventilation system, which allowed the iMac to overheat. The replacement motherboard, for which I had to pay $$$, looks to have been improved on that point, at least modified.
Again, I am only writing about my own experience. If you want an opinion on your own system, you will need to discuss with somebody who has got experience from that.
These are my last words on this subject.

I looked for this on various websites including youtube and solved it using to do the machine support virtualization.
