Acronis 2014 Does Not Save Settings

Thread needs solution

I had posted in another forum but there was no follow-up. None. Zip, zero, nada. So I will try it in a new forum.

Each week when I do a full backup I have to re-select the drive to which the backup will be made. I have to remind the program not to schedule the backup. I have to give it a name (not the one suggested by the program which is Local disk C) because it doesn't remember the name I gave it. And last but not least I have to manually delete the oldest backup even though the settings say to Store no more than 2 recent versions.

It does do the backup but it is somewhat laughable. I say this with tongue-in-cheek because I hope, God forbid, that should I have to do a restore that it will work.

Maybe I don't know what I am doing.

Hi George,

Over the next few postings, I will attempt to assist in your problem elimination. Which version of Widows and which build of 2014?

First, if the automatic delete is not working, then it probably will not correct itself. Any chance this task has been edited or changed in the past?

Most likely, I will suggest you start over with this task but before you create new tasks, I would like to offer somes suggestins about how to configure your future tasks. So I can better understand your profile before I offer suggestions. would you mind posting some screen captures of your system. Requested captures.

Windows Disk Management graphical view.
TrueImage Main menu listing your backup tasks.
Backup scheme of each task in use.
Storage folder showing the listing of your backup files--particularly the one which requires manual deletion.
If possible, sort this folder based on date/time.

------------------------------------
General Background:
The backup task is created once with all the settings you want (your choice of scheduled or
non-scheduled) and then saved under the "Backup later" option.
After that is completed, then any and all future non-scheduled backups are
initiated by opening the program and clicking the "Backup now" option so
unless you use different backups to backup different data areas, there is not
further need for additional backup task creation nor schedule changes.
