Cannot save after making changes in settings - button greyed out

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded to Acronis 2014 and wanted to make some changes to the settings of individual backup jobs. However I cannot save any change since the save button stays greyed out and cannot be clicked. attached is a screenshot (removed confidential information part) that shows what I see when trying to edit settings - save button stays grey.

This could happen if the task points to an external storage disk which is not connected.

Normally, the cause is that something needs to be checked which is not checked so the program is waiting on the user to complete the change.
