Bootable copy of a Windows 7 mirrored system disk

Thread needs solution

I have windows7 with a software raid for my system disk. I want to upgrade my system and hence want to do a universal restore of my system disk. I can not.
I broke my mirror, now I have in dynamic system disk. Acronis 2014 premium can only backup by volume from that. I do that and have the 100mb start volume and my C volume. I then restore both to a new disk, but it will not boot, says that the bootmgr is missing. I do the Windows7 startup fix a couple of time. In the end it says it can not find anything more, but the system does still not boot. Help.

( just also did a universal restore from a 2002 compact laptop into a hazwel board - worked!)

Make sure your bios boot order is correct with your new disk listed first. Also check that your System disk mode is set correctly for the new drive in bios. Would have been originally set for RAID operation, should now be set for SATA IDE mode.

See link provided for additional fixes especially fix number 7.

Thank you. Actually I was wrong. I backed up with 2012 version and restored with 2014 version. I did all again with 2014 version and now it offered me to restore the MBR as third item (next to C volume and the 100mb volume), all ok now, splendid.

That's great, glad you got it resolved.
