noob needs assistance on applying Acronis image to replacement HDD
When I last reinstalled Windows about 2 years ago, I used my spiffy new Acronis True Image Home 11 to image my system partition after I had installed and updated Windows 7 and all my apps. Unfortunately, that hard disk has just melted down, so I want to image the replacement disk using the 49GB .tib file I made back then.
Im just a little confused as to how to go about it properly. I have typed my fingers to bloody nubs searching for a guide for what I want to do but Im just as foggy on it as when I started. I dont think Acronis 11 has PXE boot capabilities, so I guess I need to make a bootable DVD with my .tib file on it, right? I assume that once booted to the DVD, I will be able to apply the image I made to the new hard disk thereby saving much time and agita by not having to do a 'from scratch' install of Windows and all my apps. If anyone knows of a step by step guide for this and would be so kind as to share it here, my appreciation would know no bounds. Thank you in advance!
