Raid drives
Acronis 2013, W7
My C drive is twin drives using Raid. Backup is copying the info from both drives, thus doubling the size of the backup unnecessarily. How do I instruct Acronis to only backup only one of the drives?

Greetings,
Are you using a boot CD or is this happening when Acronis restarts the machine and performs the back up?
If Acronis is backing up both drives, then its is not seeing your RAID correctly.
Please provide more information about your hardware, RAID controller, (RAID Level 0, 1) Hardware/software RAID? etc.

Greetings,
This is happening when Acronis restarts the machine and performs the backup. It's an Intel SATA Raid controller, Raid 1, W7, 64, 16GB ram.

Can you tell us what brand / model the MB is? I'm using 2012-13 with Asus z68 and a z77 motherboard. Not having any problems with RAID as I recall. (intel controllers) I know there can be issues with x79 based boards.
Are you running the latest build (update) available for the version you have installed? You can D/L this from your Acronis user acct free. It is often recommended that you install and activate it instead of using the media then upgrading one or more times (depending).

Sorry for the delay. I think you might mean the model which is an Intel DH77EB. If you're referring to the BIOS I'd have to dig around some more to find that. I am running the latest build of Acronis 2013. I purchased an online version so there's no media involved.
Perhaps I can ask you another question which at this moment is more important. I use daily incremental backups and so now have a full and 6 or 7 months of increments. I want to consolidate them but the consolidation wizard makes no sense. It seems to want me to select some number of incremental backups but that is limited to 5. Is it just as easy to delete the image files from the backup drive and start over?

Flyfisher,
No problem. I had to dig up some notes and do a little research.
2013 did have issues with z77 and X79 chipsets when the Storage Controller's operate mode is set to RAID.
While my z68 is raid (and working), my Z77 is AHCI (single disk). Boot media works for me. Your board is H77 chipset, but same premise.
The final solution was to create a WinPE Boot Disk. The final build of 2013 both standard and PP is 6514 (released 4/4/2013) and can be downloaded free from your Acronis User Acct. The catch however is that the WinPE boot disk creation utility was only included with the Plus Pack version of 2013.
If you have the standard version, there are two sticky posts from Jamef F and Mustang with instructions and guides for manual creation. Its a lot of information to digest and has evolved into a solid solution.
If you are at a cross roads, you may want to consider downloading a free trial of 2014 and testing it with your RAID for compatibility. If it sees 1 disk, it might be wiser to upgrade.

Shadowsports,
Thanks. I'll check out the upgrade. Meanwhile I bought a 3TB drive which should hold the double C drive backup.

Shadowsports,
Just a little update for your interest. I redid my backup profiles (changed from incremental to differential backups) to the new 3TB drive and now I'm getting single-RAID-disk backup.
