windows 8.1

Thread needs solution

After receiving an update to the 2014 premium product on 4/5 I updated windows 8 to 8.1 the following day. My existing true image was a full backup prior to the true image product update with an incremental backup done after the acronis product update. Mo that I have updated to Windows 8.1 must I run another full backup? Do I need to create another system boot disk? And can I delete the the full backup that was done prior to the 8.1 upgrade (assuming that I have to run another full backup post 8.1)

Updating/upgrading the operating system has no bearing on how long you should keep your backup. Of course, you would delete a backup that you are 150% sure that you will never go back to. Trust me, consider this carefully as you always have that very file that you lost a version of because you "'saved some space and cleaned up your old backups".

When I upgraded from Win7 to Win8 then to Win8.1, I created a new backup task and stopped the existing ones. I do this with every major change in the system (like a new graphics card, or fresh installation after a disk configurion change, etc.) I kept the images with the old "setup" for "as long as I could given my backup space".

Do I need to create a new boot disk or is the one from Windows 8 backup (prior to 8.1) still good?

Your Acronis recovery/boot CD/USB is independent of the computer you create it on. So you can keep the same one. When ATI issues an update (and certainly when it is an upgrade version), it is recommended you create a new CD (as the CD creation files might be updated).
