Password Protection missing from Partition Backup?
I'm a bit confused here, and not sure if this is a different version of previous posts.
I've carried out a Full whole partition backup of my PC to external HDD, but find I can browse into it later without entering a password. I do believe I set a password initially.
I cannot find any reference to Backup Security or passwords in any Backup Options setting when I examine the Backup Options of this backup. But if I browse into 'Disk & Partition Backup' via the main icon, password options appear (with non listed as selected).
Password use used to be consistent & obvious in my previous ATI product (Home 11). With your whole world stored on a removable drive, it's pretty scary to find password protection so inconsistently raised/applied. Can anyone explain this further?

GroverH - thanks for the info. I think that if a password is stored (for convenience) during a 'session', then the password entry box should still be present, but greyed out with say asterisks in place of the password. This would make it clear that there is a password, but that it cannot currently be changed. Removing all reference to the password option is confusing & odd.
Regarding the concept of a session password, if I reboot my PC should I still be able to browse into my ATI backup in an external HDD? I can't remember being asked for a password on this PC, would this PC always be 'recognised' and allowed access without password? Or would that imply I either failed to set one or else have a software issue?

Hi Roy,
Remember, I am another user--not Acronis.
Any suggestions for change, it would be a good idea to add to their wish list.
I am assuming that you are referring to a specific password--not a blank password.
If you open TI from being closed or from a roboot,
Any password protecterd backup shoud ask for a password before it opens--even for an edit or for a mount.
It it does not ask, then no password has been provided and not password protected.
Frankly, I do not the change made with the 2014 password and much prefer the 2013 which asks every time.
