saved newer files how to access

Thread needs solution

Hello,
This weekend due to my lack of patience when without my permission another software started to install Google Chrome. It is personal with me , I just do not like chrome.
To make a long story short I corrupted some files in windows, as a result I had to reinstall my system with a backup I made on a usb stick.
After booting to the stick and starting to do the recovery I was given the option to save the new files since the backup which I did, and gave the save destination as my second HDD.

The restore is finished and I'm up and running except for the saved material. DUH! where are the saved files and how do I access them?

Is there a reader that will read the saved backups?

I've given myself a class headache trying to find the answer and hopefully an answer will present itself through this forum.

OK My headache is over for today and a fresh start. I found that the files were saved in a Dir: Emergency. Everything is intact including the .exe file:
Backup_4-19-2014_1-36-07 PM.1.exe. needed to unpack and decrypt my saved info

My restore is complete except for the backup******.exe What happens when I click on the .exe file? Can I run it from the D: drive my restored partition is on C:?

Thanks for any help.

Perhaps you already have this but look at the first illustation in signatur link 2 below.
That shows how to create a full and complete disk image so you will have all you need to completely replicatate a new disk back to the same condition as when the backup was taken.

GroverH,
thank you for the input, meaning no disrespect, but nothing at all in your sig pertains to my situation.

Perhaps I did not explain myself clearly enough. I have a backup that I made a while ago with my OS and favored programs on a bootable USB stick.

I corrupted my then current OS and used the bootable USB to restore my system as it was when I made the backup.

When I booted with the USB stick a window popped up saying some files have been added since your backup do you want to save them now?

Answer: Yes

Choose destination

I chose my second HDD.
It took about an hour to save all the files to my second drive.

The files are all in a folder D:emergency/
The first file is: Backup_4-19-2014_1-36-07 PM.1.exe ( this is needed to and what decrypts and unpacks the saved files.)

My question is: What happens when I click on the executable file? I cannot find any reference to this procedure except to find that the .exe file is absolutely necessary for extraction. Will the exe unpack everything and transfer the saved material.. Wish I had an inkling to what will transpire after hitting the enter key :-(

Edited to add: The only reason I am a bit nervous is because after the restore I spent  a few days getting everything the way it was when I corrupted it and I don't want to do it all over again . I cannot understand for the life of me why Acronis has no mention of this feature or explanations in the user guide.
