Synchronizing local folders
Hi all,
I want to use True Image for 3 things :
1) Create a image backup of my complete SSD disk to my RAID5 HDD disk set --> this works fine
2) Create a image backup of specific folders of portable external HDD to my RAID5 HDD disk set --> this work fine too
3) Create a file backup of my whole RAID5 HDD disk set to separate external HDDs --> I can't find how to do this :(
Allow me to explain 3) a bit further:
I have a big RAID5 HDD disk set, for which a backup does not fit on 1 external HDD.
Because of this, I have multiple external HDDs to make an offline backup of my RAID5 HDD disk set.
I want this offline backup to be in file mode (so no image), which is why I'm trying to do it with "sync local folders" in True Image.
However, several required functionalities seem to be missing:
1) The RAID5 needs to be the master. When testing I tried to remove a folder from the external HDD and during the sync that folder was deleted from my RAID5!!! This needs to be impossible! I need the RAID5 to be read only during the folder sync.
2) Some folders do not fit on a single external HDD. For those folders I need to be able to specify that, for example, only folders from A-M need to be backed up to one external HDD and N-Z to another.
3) The RAID5 HDD disk set also contains my music. I found out that files like "AlbumArt_{B460CA1F-A0FE-4969-9786-DC0EA9D2205E}_Large.jpg" etc are not copied because they are hidden. I cannot find how to include these as well.
4) I would like the external HDD to be recognized by the serial / label and not by the drive letter. I wan't all these external backup HDDs to have the same drive letter. Also this I cannot find.
Can anyone tell me if this functionality is possible and how?

I think your desires/needs are beyond the scope of the sync functionality of TI. Here is a link describing what you can and cannot sync.

TI sync is aimed at folder/file level synchronization, your needs far exceed that I am afraid.
