True Image 2014 fails on Windows 8.1 Update 1 both external & internal drives

Thread needs solution

#6673. Windows 8.1 Update 1. TI2014 fails on both external & internal drives. I have just upgraded Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and then to Windows 8.1 Update 1.

The failures occur backing up approx. 70GB at different times -- 21GB, 32GB, 56GB and anywhere from about 30 minutes to 50 minutes after the backup starts on both the external drive and internal D:
I have run the Check Disk Utility, chkdsk, full reformat of the external drive. Another PC was backup-ed successfully on this 1TB Seagate external drive.

ERROR MESSAGES (same for both external and internal drives, except for the numbers:
X Failed to read data from the disk.
Failed to read from sector ‘-407,667.384’ of hard disk ‘1’.
Try to repeat the operation. If the error persists, check the
Disk using Check Disk Utility and create a backup of the
Disk. Failed to read the snapshot. (0x10C45A) CRC error.

Thanks. /Howard

This is a disk error that can be fixed, most likely. It might be in a hidden partition of the disk. To use chkdsk X: /R to remedy it you need to assign the letter X (in this instance) to the hidden partitions, using windows disk management. Upon successful completion of the disk verification, remove the letter you have added to the hidden partition.
