2014 not offering same options to resize retored partitions as with 2011

Thread needs solution

I can't contact Acronis directly, even though they want to be the "undisputed leader in support", so hopefully someone here can shed some light.

I have been using True Image 2011 for years, and it's *very* straightforward with doing recovery, especially with regard to resizing the target partitions. (You could simply select "Proceed to relayout".)

We had to upgrade to 2014 because 2011 didn't have the needed built-in drivers to support newer hardware, but 2014 is just awful compared to 2011, with regard to recovery. There is no way to change the target partition size, and, apparently, the option offered to change the partition size, which doesn't work, doesn't even appear sometimes, depending on how you are getting to the image file (mounting a virtual CD versus local disk versus remote share). When I do get the option to resize on the Recovery Options screen, it doesn't do anything.

So, how do you change 2014 to make it offer the option to resize? Or what are the magical combination of things that make the option not only appear but also work?

If I could hack 2011, I'd rather have something that works reliably.

Thanks.

From the Acronis Support page: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/

I am having neither success nor support.

Hello Robert,

sorry for the delayed answer!

Please find here a guide on how to recover disks and partitions with resize.

Thank you.
