SBS 2011 don`t start after successfull restore

Thread needs solution

Hi Folks,

i`m testing Acronis as a potential Backup Solution. Acutal i have a Windows SBS 2011 Essentials copy installed. The Windows Software-Raid is configured, so the 3 "normal" SBS 2011 Essentials Volumes are shadowed.

Volume 1: 100MB Bootloader
Volume 2: C:\ with 60 GB
Volume 3: D:\ wirh 1,8TB

The Backup to a external USB 2TB Disk was successful. The Restore to a slightly different system not.

The main difference between the Hardware is the same Processor with a 700Mhz higher frequency and 16GB instead of 4 GB RAM. Mainboard and all other HW is the same.

The Restore of the three Volumes was successfull, but if i try to start the system, it will show the Bootloaders Choice between the first Windows Plex and the second. If i try to start the first it shows the loading bar and after a few seconds it directly restarts. If i ttry to load the second Plex it loads the "Recovery Console" of Windows.

I Recovered all thre Volumes and the MBR of Drive 1. I also recovered the MBR of Drive 2, hoping that i get a running machine.

After the successfull restore i saw a Warning in the Logs meaning that something according to the BIOS has been set to 130? I don´t remember the exact wording.

Any suggestions, at the moment i have no idea?

Thanks
Philipp

Some news:

I tried to recover only the Volumes an let Acronis choose which MBR it will use. Unfortunatly i have the same error.

More News:

After trying some other Options i found the "No Restart if you get a blue Screen" option during the windows start up.

So i got to the reason for my permanent reboots. A AHCI 0x0000007b error.

This forum post including a change in the BIOS configuration, helped getting this thing to work.
