Thread needs solution

Hello Tom,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis Products]]

In order to investigate the issue and reveal the source of the problem please attach the last created crash dump file to your next reply. To enable mini-dumps in Windows Vista you should do the following:

- Right click on My Computer, choose Properties and go to the Advanced system settings
- Hit Settings in the Startup and Recovery box
- Choose Small memory dump in Write debugging information
- Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons
- Reproduce the system crash
- The small dump file will be created in the directory chosen in the Small dump directory box.

Hello Martin,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image Home 2009

Thank you for the provided information. The source of the issue it tdrpm228.sys driver which is responsible for Try&Decide service. This is a known issue and it will be fixed in the future version of the program.

In order to expedite resolution of the issue I would recommend you submit technical request using the following link. As workaround use previous build of the program. Sorry for inconvenience.

I am having the same issue! This is very frustrating.

Has there been any movement on this issue?

I don't have the previous program to "downgrade" to. I just purchased the program a few weeks ago.

I knew it was tdrpm228.sys as I stated in the thread on the old forum.  WIll you notify us of an update that fixes it?

Hello all,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

Lewis send me the serial number for Acronis True Image Home 2009 via PM and I will provide you the previous build which works.

Tom as soon as solution is available we will post it in the forum.

Hello, new forum member, but Acronis user since 2006 when Norton Ghost came out with v10, which failed on my machines.   Ghost was a pain anyway.

tdrpm228.sys also causes BSOD 0xC0000005, etc.  when mounting iPods.   I have two iPods, a 1gb and a 4gb.   Both cause BSODs when attempting to sync them.   This error did not occur on ATI v11, only occurs on ATI 2009.

Strangely enough, I can mount and eject flash memory sticks all day without getting this error.

Vista 64 bit SP2, up to date.

Appending some crash dump summaries.   Full mini-dumps available if desired.
