1st Time User Suggestion Requested
I recently bought True Image 2014 because I installed a SSD on my wife's new laptop. The SSD is running fine on her laptop but now I would like to backup the SSD on the laptop's original hard drive.
Do I need to first reformat the original hard drive or can I use the original HDD with the OS already installed and back up the SSD onto the hard drive?
Also, I put the original hard drive into an external enclosure with a USB 3.0 connection. Am I correct to assume that I can backup the SSD onto the hard drive in the external enclosure via USB 3.0?
Thanks!

The original HDD is 750GB. The SSD is 250GB.
The only thing on the original HDD is the OS, updates to the OS and whatever else HP put on it. Otherwise, it is pretty bare.

Terry, my apologies. I should have asked how much actual used space on the HDD

My guess. . .the actual used space on the original HDD is 50 GB to 100GB as most.

Assuming that you have 500GB free space available for storage space on the old disk,'
Assuming that the space being backed up is 100-150GB of used space.
you could set up a backup scheme similar to the below and set your configuation to
full wtih 6 incrementals. (6 If you wish daily backups) (4 if you wish weekly)
Store no more than 3 recent version chains.
GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is user choice.
