"Failed to restore file or folder", error codes 0x4001A, 0x40007

I have True Image 9.0, on Win XP Pro SP3.

When I do a recovery of files, Acronis gives me the error message (I left out the paths) :

Failed to restore file or folder. (0x4001A) ...
 Hints = 1
 Tag = 0xA8A1022BD18AE299

Error opening the file. (0x40007)
 function = "CreateFileW"
 Tag = 0xA8A1022BD18AE036

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (0xFFF0)
 code = FFFFFFFF80070020
 Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB816

This happened 3 times on 3 different paths (my Desktop, my user directory, and a program directory) . Pressing "Retry" didn't help, so I pressed  "Ignore". Eventually the restore was finished.

I checked those paths where the errors pointed to and all the files I wanted recovered were apparently recovered & there.

Why am I getting this error?

I too am getting this error message, when trying to Restore to a D-Link DNS-323 NAS device.

I have True Image 11.0, on Win XP Pro SP2 + Updates.

These files are to share between 2 systems and also to act as an instant Backup for the original versions.

I am wondering if the fact that it is on a Network device which is the cause of the problem.

Or maybe it is because of the fact that when I am Restoring the files, it is not to a Windows O/S, as the files are administered by the built-in NAS O/S (a flavour Linux) File System, which is Ext2.

More information/logs can be provided, if necessary.

Let me comment this situation.

This error may occur when you're recovering some simlinked folder (which has it's own name, such as My Documents, but points to different address).

In this case, I would recommend to use Mount option and mount the archive, so it will be recognized as separate drive. Then you should be able to copy the files manually.

IHTurbo, this issue is not related to ext2 filesystem, it's supported as recovery location in Acronis True Image 11 Home. But it can be related to your network. So I would recommend you to recover the files on some internal location first. If this does not help, please try to Mount the archive (it must be the partition archive) from Tools -> Mount option, and copy the files manually.

Thank you very much for your helpful advice re: mounting image file & also your detailed explanation of my specific network issue.

Thanks to your suggestion, I successfully restored the partition via another copy of the image I had located on an external SATA drive dock, which is directly internally connected to a motherboard SATA connection.

This process went of without a hitch.

As I intended to share & backup & restore to/from the NAS, I am a little worried re: Restoration of these image backups, but will try the image mount method first & report back to you if that works.

Actually, my archive is a file archive, not an image archive, so I can't mount the file. I'm sorry if I hadn't specified this in my original post.
