Problem with true Image 2014
I have used Acronis True Image for a number of years, which currently is True Image 2014 running in Windows 8.1 using a Dell XPS 8700. Twice the motherboard has had to be replaced after attempting to restore a full image while running True Image 2014 within Windows 8.1. When the computer re-boots to start the restore process, it fails to boot and just remains with the Dell logo showing indefinitely. After this, it is impossible to use the computer, it will never boot again or allow access to the bios. Dell analysis, by having me disconnect the hard drive and some of the memory cards, concluded that the motherboard had to be replaced. Dell sent a technician to my house and each time he said the motherboard had to be replaced because the computer will not boot and there is no way to access the Bios. Replacing the motherboard has allowed Windows 8.1 to boot and run properly. Something is catastrophically wrong with True Image 2014 or the way I am using it.
I would appreciate any information that would help eliminate this problem.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am not sure how I can send them a system report when I cannot use the computer as yet. (I am using another person's computer to send this.) Also, I thought of trying to use the rescue disk, but there is problem there also. In order to use the rescue disk, you have to change the boot order so that it reads the dvd drive first. I have done this in the past as check on the system and the rescue disk did work fine. A problem is that the boot secure system that is installed only retains the changed boot sequence one time. The next time you boot, it no longer reads the DVD drive first. So now I cannot use the rescue disk because I cannot change the boot sequence. The technician is coming today (I hope) to install the second Dell motherboard.
I have sent Acronis my original message on this but have not heard from them. I do not want to try to recover the image from another machine, which is a duplicate of mine, because I am afraid it would disable that computer also. Thanks again for your effort to help.

Kenneth,
When restoring a backup onto Drive C, your best chance of success and the recommended method is to boot from the TI Recovery CD and perform the recovery when booted from the CD. You may have to change the boot sequence in order to get it boot from the CD but restore is not a frequent procedure.
