Seven years differences. Do you have the Recovery CD for the version which created the 2007 files?

Perhaps you registered your TrueImage software and if you did, you can still download an iso file for the old vesion and you can use the iso download to make a new recoveriy CD for the same or near version which created the files.

What do you mean by "open"? Are you trying to open them in Windows Explorer, or to mount them, or to restore them using the ATI Windows application or to restore them using the ATI bootable Rescue Media? More detail is necessary, as your post lacks relevant detail.

Hi, I am trying to restore them.
I backed up lots of photos in 2007 onto an external hard drive using the Acronis version at that time in 2007.
I do not have the old version anymore. I now use version 2014. What is ATI Windows application.

To restore specific data, you have various options:

- You can boot from the ATI bootable Rescue Media and choose a files/folders restore, selecting the files and folders you wish to restore.

- If ATI is installed, you could mount the backup and copy files/folders from it to the drive.

- If ATI is installed, you could double-click the backup to open it in Windows Explorer, then copy files/folders from it to the drive.

- Within ATI, right-click on the backup you wish to restore from and select "Recover Files".

That gives you four methods, so at least one should suit you. :)
