Hello Georg,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

The issue can take place after upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7. As a result of upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, Acronis drivers are overridden by Windows drivers.

To solve the issue please do the following:

  • Run the Acronis True Image Home 2010 installation file. See Downloading an Installation File of Acronis Software;
  • Select Install Acronis True Image Home and select Repair:

  • This will repair the installation and you will be able to successfully start Try& Decide.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Thank you verry much Dmitry - it was a brand new Windows 7 64Bit installation. I will try your suggestion and we will see what's happen. I give a reply.
Regards - Georg.

There are safer and better ways to do what T & D does - all built into the OS.

Dear Dmitry - after Repair the same Error message. I can't start Try & Decide. Also I can't start One Click Backup. Both programs are not running under Windows 7 64Bit on my PC.
Regards - Georg.

After moving Windows XP to a new disk, Try&Decide (build 6053) fails to start for me, event code 0x00970007+0x00970016+0x00970002. So, this problem is not specific to Windows 7. A repair install of TrueImage doesn't solve the problem.

I've found out what made Try&Decide fail for me: the Windows partition wasn't marked active (GRUB doesn't care).

Making the Windows 7 (x64) partition the only active ("bootable") one (on any hard disk) turns 0x00970007+0x00970016+0x00970002 into 0x00970007+0x00970002.
