Can't delete cloned backup plan, plan font now greyed color.

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I clone an existing plan, then try to delete it. The Delete function appears to complete without error, but the plan is still there and now it's a grey font. I can open it, edit it, point it at the vault, save it, but can't delete it.

Rebooting doesn't help.

Vers is 11.5, Update 4.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

I found the (strange) problem:

Hours before I opened Acronis (in Windows 8.0 Pro), I had been debugging a software problem that involved user permissions. That work involved changing the current user from local Administrator to local Standard User, back to Administrator, back to Standard User, and finally back to local Administrator at the end of the day (before the end of workday Acronis image).

The problems with deleting the cloned jobs occurred just before the end of workday backup. I forgot to mention that in addition to the greyed Plan names, I could open both the non-grey Plans and the normal black font Plans, edit the Plan names, save the Plan, but the Plan names were not changed as expected. So in summary, I couldn't deleted the cloned Plans, or successfully edit their Plans names either.

I gave the Acronis problem some thought overnight, and it occurred to me that possibly the User Account "Account Type" changes I was doing somehow negatively affected Acronis or ACL's.

Due to the nature of my work, I make a manual Restore Point every morning. This morning (ie. the day after the Acronis problems) I restored a Restore Point from yesterday morning that was well before any of the "Account Type" changes. Viola! Acronis Plan deleting and editing problem solved :-)

Now if any of the Acronis staff or resident gurus would care to chime in on this, I'd love to know the reason (or theories) as to why Acronis has issues after the "Account Type" changes I was working with yesterday.

I look forward to your thoughts.

I found the reason why the cloned Plans were grey font:

Now that Acronis cloning of Plans is working again, I can now see that when we clone an existing Plan (that shows in black font), the new clone is shown in grey font until we enter the cloned plan and edit it appropriately. Appropriate editing will include pointing the Plan to an existing tib in a vault, or creating a new name for the tib. While we're editing, we can change the Plan name to remove "Clone of . . ." if you like.

I'm still interested in any feedback as to why changing the Win8.0 User's "Account Type" caused the issue with the Acronis Plans.
