True Image Home 11.0 Sees Basic Disk as Dynamic

Thread needs solution

Attempting to run TIH 11.0 on Win 8.1 with SSD for 1st time. With destination USB drive attached, s/w does not see C/ drive, only the USB drive. Without USB drive, get error E000101F4, s/w has detected DYANAMIC drive; s/w is not compatible with same. According to Windows Disk Manager, my drive is BASIC. Acronis website gives another reason for same error code: s/w is not compatible with certain backup programs. My laptop has Lenovo One-Key Recovery by Cyberlink. Acronis says modern versions of s/w are compatible with this. Also have MyPCBackup installed. Is ver. 11.0 compatible with this? If s/w insists that my drive is dynamic, should I upgrade to version that is compatible with dynamic drives? TIH 11.0 Plus is compatible, but I could not find price. Or should I upgrade to ver. 14.0? Can't find if it is compatible with dynamic disks.

Your Windows 8.1 pc is using the new GPT(GUID Partition Table). The older versions of Acronis see it as Dynamic(and it is a type of dynamic disk). True Image 2014 is the only version that is certified for Windows 8.1 and it does support GPT hard disks. You can download the trial version of 2014 before you buy it to see if it is compatible with your other programs. The new 2015 version will be released soon.
