I just bought a new coputer (HP) with win7 and have downloaded the 2010 TI Home but am unable to install it. It keeps telling me that the install process has been interrupted and fails to install.
I'm a registered user of TI Home 10 but it does not seem to be compitable with win7 which is why I wanted to try version 2010.

Would really like to try this out before ordering the upgrade.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help.

Tommy,

I analyzed the file you provided. This is a rare Windows based issue. During the installation, Acronis product uses a Microsoft Visual Basic script to register the Acronis VSS. There is an issue with this Microsoft Cscript, which returns the wrong return value resulting in a roll back.

I am sending a link to you to download the latest build of the program (#11345). With this build you can install the Acronis Agent ignoring the Cscript error by issuing the following command:

msiexec.exe /i [PATH]AcronisAgentWindows.msi IGNORE_VSS_REGISTRATION_ERRORS=1

where [PATH] is the path to where you have the AcronisAgentWindows.msi file.

For example,

msiexec.exe /i C:\AcronisAgentWindows.msi IGNORE_VSS_REGISTRATION_ERRORS=1

Please install the program and let us know the results.

Ralph

Without additional information I can’t be certain of the issue. However from what you have told me this may be the possible solution.

1. Temporally disable your Anti-Virus software.

2. Manually delete the content of the following folder: C:\Users\[account_name]\AppData\Local\Temp

3. Temporary disable UAC. Go Start > Run, issue "msconfig" without quotation-marks and press [Enter]. In Tools select "Disable UAC"

4. Try to install the product again from the scratch.

If the problem persists, please obtain .msi log file and attach to your next post.

1) Launch the product installation file;

2) Once the Acronis product installation screen appears, right-click on the name of the component that fails to install. You should see two options there: Install and Extract. Select Extract;

3) Select the path for extracting the component and click Save. You should select C partition, and leave the auto-created file name.

4) Go to the Run prompt (Start -> Run) and issue the following command:
msiexec /i C:\AcronisTrueImage.msi /l*v C:\msilog.log

5) Reproduce the problem and send us the log file created during the installation;

6) Please compress  MSI output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your next post.

You can also analyze the log file by yourself, the description is available in this article

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.

Hi,

still not working!

I have windows 2008 Standard R2 in french.

I try to install it on w dinows 2008 standard and it works.

I think it have something to do with the R2 version.

Sorry about the delay, but a month ago while I was waiting for a reply I decided to install version 2010 which installed properly on my computer. Working good. Only have 1 issue that I'm trying to track down, I will post a separate issue if I'm unable to correct the problem which only effects the bootable media CD.

Thanks for you time in responding to my request.

Hello Tommy and Ralph!

First of all please accept our apologies for the delay with the response. I completely share your concern and will be glad to help you.

Dear Tommy, I have consulted with our Experts' team and there are no issues reported with the French or R2 version of Windows, so probably there is something in the configuration of the machine that prevents us from installing. To be sure in it and to be able to identify the exact cause of the problem, we will need to take a closer look at it, so I would appreciate if you could kindly provide me with the following:

  1. Msi log of the new installation attempt
  2. Windows System Information file from the machine in question

Please kindly contact us with the information gathered, we will review it and provide you with the solution.

Dear Ralph, we are sorry for the delay with the response.
