Simple Full Backup Fails

Thread needs solution

I'm running the most recent version on my i7 machine running Win7 64.

I set it up to do one complete backup, nothing fancy, and encrypted 256, and nothing more.

It starts, spends a day or two, and then stops, and tells me that the last backup has failed.

I'm backing up a 2 TB drive that has maybe 20 GB free to a new 3TB external Western Digital that otherwise checks out ok.

What's up?

It could be that your USB connection to the drive has timed out. Look here:

Thank you. I made that change in Device Manager. I started the simple backup. And so far it is still going, and says it will take 2 days (2 TB). The progress bar is about 1/8 of the way across the screen.

Question: When I open an explorer window and look at the subdirectory where the backup will go, I don't see any file there yet, either a full one or a partial one. Shouldn't I?

It probably won't show up until the operation completes. Glad to hear that the wheels are still turning.
