Recover installed programs but keep system

Thread needs solution

Is it possible to somehow restore installed programs but keep the rest of the operating system? I have a C: Drive for my Dell GX270 that has several programs that i no longer have install disks or install codes for (for some reason i have Office 2007 pro disks and the install key for the academic version). Anyway the OS has a problem where the audio does not work. It is most definitely an OS problem because if i install another XP hard drive it works fine. I have tried repairing the OS with no success. So wondering if there is some way i can install a version of XP where the audio works and then recover the program files so that they are operational.

Any ideas or other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
ed

No. Windows applications aren't just files that you could copy/recover. They are installed into many places in the OS, including the registry and possibly including dlls, etc. This is a Windows issue, not an Acronis limitation.

You could do it if you have any "portable" applications, the type that don't install into Windows but just run from a self-contained executable. But, normal installed Windows apps can't just be copied.
