Using Acronis B&R 10, how to restore while booting CD and not management server?

Thread needs solution

I'm a small office and don't have a dedicated server running. I want to be able to backup my complete computer, take the hard drive out, put a fresh hard drive in, boot from a CD (that can access my windows share on another system) and do a bare metal restore.

I tried that and it seemed like the boot CD wanted to reference an acronis server. The acronis server was running on the hard disk I pulled out.

Not sure if I'm running the right product, running it the wrong way, or what.

Thanks

Dear Peter!

Thank you for finding time to report about the issue, I will be glad to help you!

As I understood from your description your Acronis Bootable Rescue Media requires the License Server for obtaining the key. This is actually is a non-standart behavior since the license key is usually tied to the Bootable Media during the process of its creation. But we have a solution for it.

Please kindly log into your account here and download the bootable media in ISO format (check the screenshot). Please burn the ISO image using appropriate writing software such as Nero or Roxio Easy CD Creator which runs on your computer. We recommend you to refer to the following article if you are not familiar with ISO burning.

After that please kindly boot from the newly created Acronis Bootable Rescue Media to see whether the issue persists.

I'm positive it will resolve the issue, but should you face any additional issues with this particular media - just leave a comment here or contact any Forum Moderator directly and we will provide you with the modified *.ISO.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
