Cloud backup constantly fails with "Decompression error" message

Thread needs solution

Hi guys,
does anyone observe such behavior?

After upgrade to 2015 my cloud backup (encrypted) constantly fails with "Decompression error" message.

Backup size is ~15GB.

I tried to update settings, reboot and restart backup - no luck so far.

Could you advise something?
2015 do not do its job for me :(

Hi,
I had the same problem twice already and posted about it here but nobody was able to provide an answer.

I found a way to fix it, but I don't know if it's the correct solution.

I went to the cloud account and looked at the list of backups. The bad one was showing a size of zero, even though it was many gb's. I selected cleanup and then selected the "delete all versions except..." and I changed that to 1. After the cleanup, the size was shown in the list in the cloud, and I was able to resume the backup.

Thanks a lot Ed,
it did a trick.

It's sad to admit but looks like we can't rely on Acronis support here. I was contacting them, but nobody replied back to me.

I'm not saying this is the cause on your system, but often when a file reports itself as 0 bytes it can be down to incorrect permissions or SSIDs between the files contained within the image or the image itself versus the SSID of your PC. This normally shows up though on a restore not when making the image.
