2014 to 2015

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded to Acronis 2015 and when I tried to do a test restore it could not identify and open the restore file. I pointed to the file and still would not work. Reinstalled 2014. It appears 2015 is not ready for prime time.

What error messages did TI or Windows give (if any)?

What OS are you using?

What type of image was this - file backup, partition/complete disk or Cloud?

Where (apart form a Cloud based one) did you store the image?

Does the image validate?

Will the image restore when using the recovery media?

Acronis track record on new releases has not been good. But I tried anyway. The backup worked fine but I tried to restore and it was unable to read file that I created or any of the 2014 files. I see no way to see the actual files without going to explorer and looking at the file structure. Back up stored on local drive, I do not use cloud and I did not try the recovery media. All version in the past would allow you to restore from the interface as well and I expected that.
I see no way to even look at the schedule or backup routines that have been set. I am unable to answer all your questions as I immediately remove and went back to 2014.

Just to be clear, starting a Recovery from within ATI 2015 is still a feature. Recovery of Disks and Partitions (p. 68 in the user guide) and recovery of files (p. 82).

The problem you are reporting is not a missing feature but a program bug or a problem on your machine, in your case, rendering the program unusable. You should be able to contact Support for free assistance with a problem recovering. Unfortunately, according to the web site, TechSupport for ati2015 won't be available until September 23.

Hello Everyone,

support for Acronis True Image 2015 is of course available. You just need to log in to your account with registered serial number and select on our support contact page "I'm using full version" - "Acronis True Image 2015".

Terry, basing on your feedback I've created a support case for you and you will be contacted soon by one of our support professionals.

Thank you.

That's terrific. I misunderstood the web page notice on the Support page about availablity .

Thanks.
I did reinstall and was able to select restore, but called for a restart and nothing happened. Just not getting along with this 2015 at all. I have used Acronis for years and never had such a problem getting it to work.

Hi Terry,

I see your feedback in our database but no support cases (at least under this email).

Please let me know if you need our assistance and I'll create a support case for you if needed.

Thank you.

Yes, please create a support case. When I try to restore, I only see one backup although there are several. I would always want the option of selecting the one I want to use.

Then the second issue, when I select restore It calls for a restart but does not do a proper restart. Computer appears to close, but power is still on and just sits there. When I turn off and back on , nothing. Restore does not work.

Thanks.
