2 Years No Email Notification - Now Support Terminated

Thread needs solution

I haven't been able to get email notification to work on one of two machines in nearly 2 years. Starting with V10 through to 2009 (is there an 'About' box somewhere?) The last time I tried following up with Tech Support I was advised that my support had run out! All this time with seemingly endless emails, no fix, and now "Sorry. You've been at this too long" I have the same settings on both machines. The Win XP system works, the Vista system doesn't. Testing on both systems is "successful". But I still get no email notification after backup/validation. I cannot have settings as per other posts: encryption has to be off; I have to select "long on to incoming server"; I have to set the outgoing SMTP port to 25. Otherwise the test doesn't work. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the same security software and settings on both computers?

Does it make a difference if UAC is on or off?

If you find you're not using the latest build, updating may help. You can find the build in TI 2009 by pressing the Alt key to get the standard menu bar, then select Help >> About. Also, for the last few builds of TI 2009 (starting with 9,796), you can use the little down arrow by the ? (Help) button on the to access the About box.

Using the "Test" options are not all that accurate because the "test" is not performed under the same conditions or in the same manner as when the task is run. The result of this is usually that the "test" will work fine, but it will fail when run from the task. However, if the test email works, I would think the settings entered should be correct.
