Uninstalling 2015 - It's Horrible
I am a LONG time user of Acronis True Image and have always been delighted with the product. So much so that I always advocate it on the support forums I either run or am a staff member on (several large, well known forums). Up until now, that is.
I "upgraded" one of my systems from 2014 to 2015 a few days ago when the notification balloon appeared. Tried it for a few days, posted here a few times, and am now uninstalling it and reinstalling 2014 (fortunately, I did not upgrade my other 5 systems). This release seems like either a work in progress, a premature release, or simply a feature-poor version of prior releases. The reasons I've decided to abandon this version:
1) No ability to sort backups by date
2) No ability to permanently defeat scheduling (though that's an issue with the 2014 version as well)
3) Browsing for a destination does not show prior destinations - you always have to do a "full" browse
4) No apparent way to restore individual files or folders (if the option is there, it's very well hidden)
5) The elimination of other features for no apparent reason

Received notification for free "upgrade" to 2015. Win8 Metro interface may be fine for tablet but its miserable for desktop PC.
Thanks for ruining an otherwise great product. I won't be purchasing again.

What did you do forget the "e"?
I think Acronis deserves a little bashing.

Havent seen 2015 yet and until they fix number 2 above, i won't be buying it at all.
Actually version 9 was best i think, my opinion.

I made the mistake to buy the upgrade for $29.99. BIG MISTAKE!
I totally agree with problems identified above, by other users. Furthermore:
1) Backups are about 10% larger using highest compression.
2) Images are corrupted even if validation succeeds!!!!
3) Mounting an image causes blue screen! (I hadn't seen one in Win 7 for a loooong time).
I sent an email to Acronis, but got no response. Probably they are busy trying to calm down their clients!
TIB 2015 was a total disappointment! WASTED MONEY. I am currently downgrading to 2014.

Also very long time user, maybe ten years, equally frustrated.
What alternatives do you recommend?

I don't think we need to reinvent the wheel. If you were happy with a previous version, just use that. That's what I (and from what I can see, many of us) did.

I totally agree with you. We should have sticked with the old version.
But we all upgraded because we believed that the new version would be better! The real problem is the Acronis has charged us for this "upgrade". To be honest, after this, I will never suggest Acronis; not even the "good TIB 2014" version.

Good suggestion from Alan Grossman, thank you.
And fortunately I only installed the 2015 version on one computer so far.

Same here. I have 6 licenses but upgraded only one system to try it. After a few days I uninstalled 2015 and reinstalled 2014.

Add one more long time user.
I don't know which is better, downgrading or just going with another product. Several people have suggested Casper.

I am also a long time user. Fortunately, I loaded the trial version of 2015. I tried one back up, and that was all I needed to do to totally agree that this version is a downgrade. Acronis must have hired new people that don't know what they are doing. I'll stay with the 2013 version for now and wait until Acronis 2016 comes out.

I am having the same impression....except for the trouble multiple users are having, the differences at the GUI windows don't inspire confidence or a mature product.
I keep using True Image 2013 Plus Pack too, stable and full of all features.
@Acronis: I appreciate a new Windows 8.1 look like GUI, but you should assert this until every window including the rescue media windows are having the same look, otherwise see my text above. Never cut off features to reach more less-software or pc -experienced people. I am not against an easy GUI, but let users the possibility to choose using the easy or extended way of the software/GUI.

If I wanted to know what is worse than a nightmare, I found it.
Because usually I would have waited for a correction as it has very often been the case with Acronis, but this time it is worse because I have got to find a replacement. Too much is too much.
True Image 2015 is not able to find the previous versions of my backups (is it because they are on an external WD drive?). It asks to browse for each of the increments and suddenly gets stuck. No way to retrieve automatically existing backups.
Displays empty folders when they are full of increments. Need to close the program and open it again.
I do not need a backup program for a tablet, but for a PC. And I am not a PC illiterate who needs a super simplified interface.
Why did you put the tools out of the main window, as separate programs?
Why did you suppress the consolidate tool?
You guys are ruining your reputation for another time. That's suicide!

Continuing yuck. I asked for a refund three days after buying. No sign of a refund, instead notes offering to fix somehow fix the problems. Just making me more annoyed.

Julian, did you request the refund in the Acronis support? If so, you must request it from Cleverbridge, they have a support page for this you can find in the email from them.

I did request it from support. But if they had three working brain cells they could have told me. Instead we have both wasted time exchanging emails...

I too am was a big fan of Acronis. I'm just not finding 2015 usable for multiple computers being backed up to the same drive. I consider all of the above to be constructive criticism of a product that we all wish would be as great as it has been in past years. I can see why it might become bashing since we see no responses from Acronis. The ball is in their court I believe, and all of us would appreciate hearing from them on these issues. Absent that, I'm looking elsewhere as well.
