Failed to find Version 1 Error

Thread needs solution

I do only full images (backup) period. I have a large external hard drive that I backup to three nights a week. I usually store 4-6 backups on the external HD and then I delete the oldest. I've not restored in a long time. My Outlook started acting up and so I decided to go back a few days and do a clean restore. I tried and got "Failed to find Version 1" for whatever reason. So I pointed to the stored backup file and STILL I got the error! I SHOULD BE ABLE TO POINT TO A FILE AND HAVE IT RESTORE? Having no luck. After reading the forum, I found answers that refer to incrementals etc, not full backups. I also figured that it had something to do with my deleting older files but again, I should be able to point to what I want and have it restore. Really appreciate your help!

Ed,
Post a capture of the files in their storage folder sorted by Date/time.

Is the backup a files only backup or a disk/partition backup?

Which version ofr TI created the backup file aNd which gversion of Windows?

If you are attempting to restore a single file, have you tried just double clicking the tib file from inside Windows Explorer?

Thanks Grovertt; I got it straightened out...at least today anyhow. Got enough knowledge to be dangerous!!
