TI 2010 Plus pack- Norton Internet Security Problems after restore

Thread needs solution

Hi;

I recently got the 'Plus-Pack' for TI 2010. I've noticed that restoring images I've created since installing the Plus pack seem to have problems with Norton Internet Security 2010 (on boot). I restored using the downloaded linux boot CD media and specifying to restore the entire drive image (C: and MBR) without using the Universal Restore check box.

I've tried restoring with both the old pre-plus pack boot CD as well as the plus-pack level media (and NOT selecting universal restore). The images were created while Windows-7 64 bit was running.

After restore, booting my system results in NIS 2010 immediately (after logon) saying it needs to be activated, and/or it says it no longer has any virus definitions. I was able to 'activate' the system, but as soon as I reboot, it again says NIS 2010 Activation is required again.

It acts as if something isn't being saved or restored properly.

Restoring an image created from prior to my installing the plus-pack (with the non-plus pack boot media) doesn't seem to have this problem.

Prior to installing the plus-pack, I would only infrequently have a minor issue with NIS after restore (it normally comes up fine, and I never saw an 'activation required' loop before the plus-pack).

I've restored back to a point where I hadn't installed the plus pack, and everything is o.k.

I was wondering if others with Norton Internet Security 2010 are having the same issues restoring with the plus-pack level, or not.

Thanks;

Hello Greg,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
According to your description, the configuration file responsible for the license information has been corrupted. Have you tried to reinstall Norton Internet Security? If not, please do it and see if the issue remains.
I don't think that the issue was caused by Plus Pack. It looks like a glitch. Have you tried to restore the archive again? Is this issue reproducible?
Have you tried the standard CD created with Acronis Bootable Media? Have you partitioned the hard drive prior the recovery?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
