No backup of single files and directories

Thread needs solution

I downloaded a test-version of True Image Home 2010. I marked some files and directories of different partitions and started the backup. Target is my DVD-/CD-drive.

I see a small window with a progress bar on which I can read "Initializing...". But nothing happens. The line that tells me that the computer should be switched off after operation and its checkbox are greyed out.

What can I do?

Using optical media is at best an exercise in frustration. If you do not have an internal or external drive to use as the target, it is best to invest in one.

As per manual it's possible to use optical media. If this is a lie I use other software because it's important for me to have backups on CD/DVD.

I have a 2nd hd in my computer. But to backup to that drive also doesn't work.

To buy an external USB-drive would be a waste of money and disk-space as my data - private and business - is not more than 10 GB together.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Richard,
Since the backup task doesn't run while saving the archive to a local drive, most probably, the issue is not related to the DVD-ROM.
What is your operating system? Please install a special driver update:

Download SnapAPI Build 503;

- Unpack it and install with Disabled logging

- Reboot the computer to complete the changes and see if the issue remains. If the issue remains, please download Acronis Report utility available here and run it, create a report and attach the file to your next post. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
