"Manage Backup Locations and Archives" tool fails
I find myself in a very awkward and frustrating state with respect to Acronis True Image Home 11. Basically the "Manage Backup Locations and Archives" tool can not find any secure locations (I have only one). I can, however, manage the Secure Zone in that I can either expand or decrease its size. I've included a couple screenshots (1 & 2) to illustrate.
The result is that backups can be done and they can be verified, but I can not access the Backup Location to prune or delete old backups. So I can only add to the Backup Location and not delete nothing. I can also use the "Explore Backup Archive" tool, but it finds no Backup Locations (screenshot 3).
In an attempt to remedy this situation, I installed the latest revision of Acronis True Image Home 11, but this changed none of the aforementioned difficulties.
Whatever the remedy for True Image's inability to manage the Backup Location, I do not want to leave a partition in the form of a Secure Zone on my backup disk that I can neither edit nor delete without getting some disk utility to do it outside of True Image.
I need an Acronis person to get me out of this pickle.
A whoops is in order I guess, after having more carefully read the user manual. I wrote my original comment assuming that "backup location" was an all inclusive and uniform term.
That depends. If one is *selecting* a backup location to store ones backup, then this can refer to both the "Acronis Secure Zone" or any designated place on some type of memory like disk, USB memory, etc.
But if a user chooses to *manage* a backup location, then the Acronis secure zone is excluded. A careful reading of the manual implies as much in its description of how its memory is algorythmically managed, but doesn't actually explicitly say the user can't also manage it using the "Manage Backup Locations and Archives" tool.
A small point I suppose, but it does compromise the otherwise excellent simple and intuitive user interface for Acronis True Image Home.
