True Image 2015 doesn't save my custom backup schedule

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Whenever I create a custom backup schedule I save it. When I close the window and open it back up my custom schedule does not appear under My Backups. Do you know what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hello,

I have the same problem. Everything works fine as long as I leave the Acronis program running. After closing and reopening it, all my backup configurations are gone. When I want to add the backups I made earlier, nothing happens.

Hi

Same problem here. I created and saved a custom scheme, but after closing and restarting the program it's not available from the scheme list. However, if I re-create the scheme and attempt to save it with the same name, an error message tells me a scheme by that name already exists.

Anyone know where TIB2015 stores these custom schemes?

I've been doing a bit of digging, and found the custom schemes are stored in the registry, so they are being saved. Now just need to learn why they're not been pulled back into the list the next time ATI is started.

Anyone care to shed some light on this, or should I just go straight to requesting a refund under the 30 day money back guarantee?

I change settings for all my backups to include automatic cleanup, retaining no more than 1 backup chain of incremental backups. When I check later for the settings to be retained, they are back to the original settings without the automatic cleanup set. This has to be a very dumb mistake overlooked by the programmer. I can provide screen shots if needed.

Each and every task must be prepared with the specific setting you want for that specific task. (no master settings available for this current version).

My experience has been that the task will perform those settings set during the creation of the task. If the task is edited or changed, all bets are off as to whether the changed settings will be properly applied. The rule I practice is that I do not edit any of my tasks. If edits needed, I stop using the task and create a new task with the changed settings.

Here is one example of my suggestion for another user.

Figment,
This forum is mostly assisted by volunteers. You can get direct help from Acronis (within the first 30 day) by filling out a support ticket or using Live Chat.
Start with the link in upper right corner. Help also along left margin.
If you want a refund, be sure and contact Acronis direct within the 30 days of purchase.

I'm not sure what the point of named custom backup schemes are if you can't recall them and re-use the values in another backup task.

I decided to keep 2 chains of 1 full + 5 incrementals. I saved it as "My Custom Scheme". When I created a new backup task, "My Custom Scheme" wasn't available to populate the backup scheme of the new backup task.

Capt TickTock,
You are correct. This is a problem which has not been fixed. It was mostly fixed in 2014 and saving custom names in 2015 is totally lacking.

Added Edit:

f you are wanting an identical task or near identical, why not use the Operations/Clone Settings/ option which will reproduce a new task with the same settings as the original. Just perform an edit to change whatever is needed changing--such as task name or a different storage folder.
