"System State Backup" task never completes on version 2010 build v5055; Windows 7
On my Windows 7 Home Premium machine with Acronis TrueImage Home 2010 build 5055, the "system state backup" never completes.
The opertation status shows: "Gathering information on system protected files. Please wait..." and the TrueImageHomeService.exe shows a CPU usage of 50%, but no data is being written to the harddisk.
Of course, I looked in this forum for solutions to similar problems. I did disable the UAC but to no avail. I am not willing to disable the Antivirus protection. All other backup solutions work fine, except this one.
Any support is appreciated.

I take that Back.......... Just looked again as I left the backup "Gathering information" and it looks like it's working. However the system state backup file is now 4.4GB rather than with TI2009 is was no more than 200KB!!!!!!!!
What's that all about!!

Let me address this issue.
First of all, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced in this situation.
Since we have fixed some common System State Backup issues, please make sure you use the latest build (6053), which is available here. To get access to updates you should first register Acronis software.
If this feature still does not work, please collect the following information:
- Download the file;
- Run the downloaded file
The gathered information will be put in adv_report.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.
Running AcronisInfo may take up to 5 minutes.
Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the issue appears and the link to this thread. Then please provide me with the case number you receive from our system, so I can pick it up and speed up the process. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.
I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

I'm having same problems described here with version 7046.
System state backup works normally if I use a network drive as destination backup drive but backup never completes using my new external usb hard drive. The opertation status shows: "Gathering information on system protected files. Please wait..." I'm attaching results of running AcronisInfo.exe as described here
