ATI is trying to consolidate offline backups with current backup

Thread needs solution

I'm an old IT guy, so I want ATI to perform a nightly backup to a drive that is attached to my computer all of the time. On Saturday, I attach a 2nd external drive and perform a "Weekly" backup to that drive. And once a month, I attach a 3rd external drive and perform a "Monthly" backup.

Each of these backups are in done through a separate profile, and each drive when attached is assigned a unique drive ID (D:, I:, or J:).

When these backups run, they all fail at the end of the backup because ATI can not access one of the other backups (see screenshot attached for error messages).

How can I stop ATI from trying to consolidate these backups?

See additional screenshots for backup definitions and options.

I am not sure but in my opinion, what happened should not have happened but the use of the option to limit the space to 1100GB was the cause as that opiton uses consolidation to achieve it goal.

Instead of using that option, my suggestion would be to create new tasks and use the automatic cleanup as illustrated in GH11 if using only full backups, or use GH13 if using differential type backups. Adjust how many chains to keep (store x chains) based on your storage space needs. Remembering that the program will not delete the old backups full chains until a replacement has first been created so always allow space for 1 more full backup than what you set your limit to be.

Each new task(profile) has to be created with its own individual destination attached. A designated drive letter only works when the target letter was assigned by the computer performing the backup.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme.Keep 4 versions (chains). The 4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs..

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains. The 2-2 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.
