Clone from 2TB to 500GB SSD; never calculates after exclusions or starts clone

Thread needs solution

I am trying to migrate my wife's PC from her 2TB hard drive down to a 500GB Crucial SSD. I'm using the OEM version of True Image 2014 that came bundled with the drive. I am getting stuck every time at the exclusions screen, every time I check folders to exclude from the image, Acronis takes several hours(!) of processing and comes back saying that I have 0GB to transfer. I have tried this three times with the same result. Continuing on with the clone brings up the spinning clock for ~15 minutes and then exits with no activities.
While I have an external drive where I can back up all of her documents I am trying to avoid the extra step and inconvenience in case the clone itself goes wrong of having to port everything back. Has anyone else encountered this seeming bug and more importantly found a fix for it? So far the exclusion functionality has proved entirely unhelpful to me.

It seems that users of Crucial SSD's post a number of issues here on the Forum. Why that is I am not sure but your issue is a new one. Am not sure how you are attempting to perform the clone but it should be done using the application from a bootable media CD or USB drive. I'm also not sure that the OEM version provides such capability. You should review the documentation for the correct procedures to perform a clone, they are a bit different for say a laptop vs. a desktop machine. You can go to the link below for access to the documentation for ATI 2014. Expand the ATI 2014 entry and choose the User Guide PDF for download. Post back with questions.
