"Cannot Find Version 1" (File and Folder Backup)

Thread needs solution

I have a File and folder backup created to backup a selected folder and its contents from a secondary (internal) hard disk to a different (internal) hard disk that contains my backups. When the backup is created for the first time (full initial backup followed by scheduled incremental weekly backups) , I am able to "backup now" and the backup file appears where it is expected to. If I try to "backup now" again, I get a "Cannot Find Version 1" error. I am offered to "Browse" for the file, but clicking on "browse" does nothing. The only option that works is "cancel". If I schedule an automatic backup for a few minutes later, the backup is unable to run and I once again get the error that version 1 cannot be found.

A different Files and Folder backup scheme that backs up selected files/folders from my C: drive to an external hard drive works perfectly fine; and so does my weekly full system disk backup.

Any ideas?

Peter,

Do all the drives have static drive letters or do they change between reboot?

I get this message too - but only sometimes. I just click 'ignore' and all seems to go well on my Win 8.1 machine. I still can't get ATI to work on my Win 7 machine.

I do have exact same problem as Peter Smith. File & Folder backup created the first time a full BU at the correct location. The incrementals now don't work and complain "Cannot find version 1". Button "Browse" doesn't function, so you can only cancel the operation.
A Partitions BU does function properly for the same source & target disk.

Sorry for delayed response. Yes, all drives have static drive letters. (unchanged for a few years!!) I uninstalled Acronis 2015 and reverted to 2014: No more problems in this regard. (However, a new "issue" has recently arisen which result sin BSODs caused by afcdp.sys when nonstop backup is turned on (I have started a different topic to attempt to resolve this).

I was unable to resolve this issue and have now reverted to Acronis 2014 which has no problem finding backup files anywhere on my system. So, it seems that I wasted good cash upgrading to Acronis 2015!)
